About
Call of the Sea Youth Day Camps offers sailing aboard the schooner Seaward and the brigantine Matthew Turner, along with marine science and art activities. Campers take part in fun project-based learning, engage with and learn about marine life, learn seafaring arts such as knots, and join walks, games, and beach combing. The program includes safety gear, marine science materials, craft materials, and snacks, and campers sail on San Francisco Bay.
• Ages: 8–12 years old
• Schedule: Monday–Friday day camp sessions, 8:30 am–3:30 pm, offered June 15–19, June 22–26, July 27–31, August 3–7, and August 10–14
• Price: Ages 8–12 $750/week; 50% deposit required; due in full 30 days before camp starts
The program describes its mission as “experiential, environmental education under sail.” Scholarships are available. Youth Day Camps are part of a broader program that also offers Day Sails For All Ages, Chartered Sails, School Field Trips, Adult Voyages, and Teen Voyages. One testimonial from a Hidden Hills Elementary School group describes clear directions from the coordinator, organized programming, informative and patient sailing crew and instructors, and students reporting that they learned a lot and felt relaxed during their sail.
