• Ages: 3–8 years old
• Schedule: Camps run on select school-year breaks, holidays and during the summer, generally from 9:00 AM–3:00 PM, with aftercare options from 3:00–4:00 PM; Spring Break is offered as week-long camps, Winter Break and MLK Day are offered as single-day camps, and Mid-Winter Break offers both single-day and week-long options.
Educators provide a STEAM-focused experience in which campers take part in a variety of art, science, nature, and engineering projects in each camp session. For weeklong camps, meals and snacks from the on-site cafe Bean Sprouts are available at an additional cost, and if families do not add these meals, they send lunch and two snacks each day.
A typical day for 4–8-year-old campers runs from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and includes drop-off and check-in, opening circle time, several blocks of themed activities, museum exploration or hikes, two snack breaks, lunch, and a short cleanup and pack up period before pick up. A typical day for 3-year-old campers includes drop-off and check-in, storytime, rotating activity stations, snack, outdoor activities or a hike, lunch, and pick up around early afternoon, with aftercare including naptime followed by rotating activity stations, museum exploration, snack, and a later pick up. At the end of each camp day, families receive an email summary of the day’s activities, questions to ask campers, and, when relevant, a hint about what to expect the next day.
Campers must be fully toilet trained and able to use the restroom and change their clothes independently.
