Play Marin

Play Marin offers basketball, volleyball, track and field, soccer, and clinics and special events for tennis, sailing, swimming, rowing, mountain biking, surfing, golf, and lacrosse. It also offers summer camps with arts and crafts, sports, and nature exploration, plus after-school programs that include soccer, basketball, football, and other physical education activities. The program also provides enrichment opportunities such as Holiday Heroes, cinematic adventures, college and professional basketball games, a Snow Day with snowboarding and skiing lessons, and a trip to a Black History musical.

About the provider

Play Marin was founded in 2008. Paul Austin founded the organization and was appointed full-time Executive Director by the Board of Directors in January 2020. The organization says it serves over 400 children and teenagers annually. It states that it aims to level the playing field for children and teenagers in Marin County through the power of play and that it works with local schools and several organizations. It also says it offers free or low-cost sports, recreation, and enrichment programs, provides coaches, covers league fees, arranges practices at convenient locations, and supplies equipment like jerseys and shoes.
