Camp El-O-Win is owned and run by The Friends of Camp El-O-Win. Big changes happened during Camp El-O-Win’s 65th year at its current location. The camp has a land acknowledgment recognizing that it resides on the original territory and ancestral lands of the Nyyhmy (Western Mono, Monache) Nation and states a commitment to the “Leave No Trace” principle and honoring the land’s history. This land acknowledgment, including the one in the dining hall, was created with Girl Scout Gold Awardee Zeena Bangar (Troop #3391), local Mono tribe representatives, and sponsorship from the Beth E.
