About
Hikari After School Program offers Japanese language courses, cultural workshops, youth leadership and exchange programs with Japan, and special interest adventures to Japan. Classes are limited to 8 students per class, and everyday Japanese phrases are provided for learners. Japanese language courses and classes are also available for the entire family, and adult classes are limited to 8 students as well.
• Ages: 6–18 years old
• Schedule: Weekly classes beginning the week of August 16, with separate class times for lower elementary, upper elementary, middle school, and high school students
The mission of Hikari Japanese Academy is to strive to be a leading provider of Japanese cultural education and experiences that are fun and impactful. The program serves the greater San Gabriel Valley area and lists partners and friends that include cultural, educational, and community organizations such as the Aikido Center of Los Angeles, California-Japan Sister Cities Network, Consulate General of Japan in Los Angeles and San Francisco, Japan Foundation Los Angeles, Japan House Los Angeles, Japanese American National Museum, and multiple schools and universities in both the United States and Japan.
