American Gymnastics Academy

American Gymnastics Academy offers structured developmental classes for children that include competitive training in Compulsory, Optional, and XCEL programs. The program also includes The Long Beach Open, a three-day competition, the AGA Holiday Show as an in-house performance for family and friends, summer camps, and skills days. Classes range in time from 45 minutes to 2 hours.

Owners Shane and Carol started American Gymnastics Academy in 1989 with a dream to create a safe place for all children to feel special and unique. Each class is supervised and taught by trained coaches. AGA is proud to competitively train over 150 athletes each year in award winning Compulsory, Optional, and XCEL programs. AGA has been a partner in helping athletes receive collegiate athletic scholarships from institutions such as Cal Berkley, UC Davis, UCSB, Cal State Fullerton, Boise State, UCLA, San Jose State, and Arizona Christian. American Gymnastics Academy uses state of the art equipment, and the program states that “ATTITUDE IS EVERYTHING,” “We don’t just teach gymnastics – we instill life lessons,” and that all 800+ students are an integral part of their family.
