About
ISR Lessons focuses on ISR lessons that teach Self-Rescue skills in the water. Children practice specific skills such as Rollback to float and Swim Float Swim. Lessons are one-on-one, with only the child and the Certified Instructor in the water.
• Ages: 6 months–6 years old
Infant Swimming Resource states the mission of ISR Lessons as “Not One More Child Drowns.” Children from 6 months to 6 years of age learn Self-Rescue skills to save themselves. Lessons are fully customized, one-on-one, and focus on developmentally appropriate ISR skills. Instruction includes teaching children to swim a short distance, rotate onto their back to a floating position, and then turn over to continue the sequence of swimming and floating until they can reach safety at the steps, side of the pool, or shoreline. All lessons are taught by a Certified Instructor.
Thousands of ISR lessons are taught every day worldwide as part of Infant Swimming Resource's commitment to prevent childhood drowning. Parents can find a Certified Instructor and also have the option to join the ISR team and own a flexible business.
Parent testimonials describe children becoming calm and happy in the water, learning to swim unassisted under water, and making more progress in two weeks of ISR than in two summers of conventional swimming lessons. Other parents report that their children are already floating after three weeks of classes, that they often recommend ISR to others who ask how their kids learned to swim at a young age, and that many families are referred to the program. Testimonials also mention children developing a healthy respect for water and learning to work to find the skills to get to air, not just a wall.
