About
Safe Swim SoCo – SafeSwimSolutions Program offers one-on-one aquatic safety skills lessons that include basic swim instruction, swimming skills, stroke development, advanced arm pulls, and productive kicks. Lessons also cover basic drafting in the horizontal position, basic breath holding for safe submersions, and aquatic movement to turn and grab walls and stairs. The program includes adaptive swim instruction and focuses on skills-based lessons with an emphasis on survival skills, including practicing aquatic safety skills in both summer and winter clothing during the final week of lessons under close instructor supervision.
• Ages: 1–12 years old
• Schedule: SafeSwimSolutions Foundations Lessons are offered in 4–6 week sessions as a package of 24 lessons, with multiple daytime and late afternoon time blocks available across several sessions from January through November.
• Price: The cost for the SafeSwimSolutions Foundations program is $1200 for the 24 lessons.
Safe Swim SoCo is a provider of the SafeSwimSolutions Program teaching children's aquatic safety and swimming skills throughout Sonoma County. SafeSwimSolutions describes itself as a safety first, swimming second drowning prevention program and offers one-on-one aquatic safety skills lessons for children eight months and up as one tool in a broader Water Safety Tool Box. The program offers several different lesson types, including adaptive swim instruction for children with ADHD, ASD, sensory avoidant or seeking behaviors, severe medical conditions, and other spectrum disorders, and uses customized lessons to build muscle memory for specialized aquatic survival skills with an emphasis on outcome-based rather than time-based lessons. Instructors are highly trained, annually recertified, trained in childhood behavioral psychology, sensorimotor learning, and actual survival swimming techniques, keep active certifications in pediatric CPR, and have access to medical staff, Master Instructors, and other support networks. Lessons are short, frequent, and always one-on-one, and the SafeSwimSolutions Foundations Lessons are structured as a 24-lesson package for easier, more flexible scheduling. Stephanie leads the program and can be reached at [email protected].
