About
Cafeteria Kids Theater offers Summer Camps, in-school residencies, classes, and a LunchBreak Series, along with other theater programs for kids and teens. The program also produces Past Productions + Camps that feature student work on stage.

Cafeteria Kids Theater was founded in 2007 and has been a part of Lunchtime Productions Inc., a non-profit organization, since 2014. Cafeteria Kids Theater serves kids and teens in Napa Valley and is funded in part by other entities. The program is part of Lunchtime Productions Inc., a non-profit tax exempt organization.
Executive Director and teacher Olivia Cowell has been part of Cafeteria Kids Theater since 2007 and became Executive Director in 2024. Olivia is a theater educator, award-winning director, and choreographer who teaches theater courses as a faculty member in the Theater Arts Department at Napa Valley College and serves as an Associate Director with Shakespeare Napa Valley. She is a member of the California Educational Theatre Association (CETA), TYA/USA, Royal Academy of Dance, and American Alliance for Theatre & Education, holds a Masters Degree in Drama from San Francisco State University, and has trained with the UK-based Royal Academy of Dance.
Musical Director and teacher Vivian McLaughlin has a BFA in Musical Theater from New York University, is a member of SAG/AFTRA and AEA, and is a multiple Arty Award winner/nominee for her music direction. She was head of the theater department at Justin-Siena High School, where she taught acting and choral classes and directed musicals and plays, and she has been adjunct faculty at Solano Community College, where she music directed for Solano Youth Theatre and was acting Artistic Director for the Teen Touring Company.
In-School Residency Coordinator and Teaching Artist Tessa Mello graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a BA in Theater and a concentration in Theater and Community and is a Napa Valley College alum. Tessa has taught in St. Helena Elementary School and has led many classes and summer camps, including Cafeteria Kids Theater’s Fairytale Magic camp.
Founder Aimée Guillot is a theater artist and educator who began her career as an actor and has worked as a teaching artist in classrooms in San Francisco, Berkeley, Oakland, Palo Alto, San Jose, and Napa, including drama instruction at multiple local schools in Napa.
Cafeteria Kids Theater’s mission is to bring the performing arts to children and families in Napa Valley using theater as a vehicle to bridge different ethnicities, backgrounds, and perspectives. The mission states that the program strives to educate children to investigate the commonalities that exist in all people as they go through the creative process, which in turn builds inner confidence, imagination, and empathy. The stated goal is to give children of all ages tools to discover the artist within them and live in the world from a place of creativity, compassion, and love.
