Lumen Learning Center

Lumen Learning Center offers remote tutoring and tutoring for grades K-12. Students connect with a tutor using free online conference software like Skype or Zoom for private learning sessions or group classroom style learning. The program also offers homework help, middle school math help, math help in Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Calculus, reading comprehension support, ESL, and homeschooling classes in individual and classroom settings.

• Tutoring — grades K-12 · After an evaluation of the student’s skills, each student is paired with the best fit tutor for individualized attention.
• ESL — children or adults · Learn English as a second language in a fun and effective way.
• ACT Test Prep — the college bound · Instruction prepares the student to successfully take the SAT or ACT.
• Homework Help — grades K-12 · One on one instruction to help improve grades and build good study habits.
• Middle School Math Help — middle school and high school · Math help tutoring for students with learning issues.
• Math Help — Tutoring math help with Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry and Calculus.
• Reading Comprehension — Tutoring in Phonics, Reading Comprehension, Writing Skills, Grammar, Essay Writing, Vocabulary and Spelling.
• English as a Second Language (ESL) — Tutoring so that the student can fully understand in class.
• Homeschooling Classes — K-12 · Homeschooling classes offered in individual and classroom settings.

About the provider

Louise Schie is the founder and executive director of Lumen Learning Center. The center is founded on the belief that students learn most effectively when the learning environment is inviting and the work is interesting. Lumen Learning Center is an approved vendor for Ocean Grove Charter School.
