New World Child Development Center offers a bilingual curriculum, including a Mandarin-English bilingual program, in an academic program based in a home-like setting. The program includes play areas and a playground that promote thinking, problem solving, turn taking, physical dexterity, and good health, and it also offers hot lunch. Families receive information through a calendar, newsletter, and forms.

The educators and support staff at New World Child Development Center are described as highly professional and trained, and every educator is a trained professional with a deep passion for education. Many of the educators have specialized training in fine arts such as music, art, and theater. The leadership team includes Co-Founders Dr. Lien-Hsin Chang and Ms. May Chen, along with Mr. Zane (Director / Yellow Room Teacher), Ms. Shilpi (Yellow Room Teacher), Ms. Cindy and Ms. Maria (Red Room Teachers), Ms. Laurie and Ms. ZiJin (Blue Room Teachers), and Ms. Yao, Ms. Murong, Ms. Mina, and Ms. Ruth (Rainbow Room Teachers).

New World Learning Center was founded in 1998, and in 2004 it opened its Walnut Creek campus. One aspect of the program is that there is only one class for each age group, making it a small, more intimate school, as described in a parent testimonial. The mission of New World Child Development Center states that its goal is to meet parents’ need by creating a balanced, harmonious environment where ethical standards are cultivated and the child’s potential is challenged. The mission also states that the program provides a variety of experiences and opportunities to learn, create, and discover the world, and that it teaches basic skills of reading, writing, math, and science in a developmentally appropriate way.

According to the mission statement, the program aims to promote the development of the whole child by developing a positive and healthy self-image through understanding and respecting individual differences, promoting curiosity and interests in their world to enjoy the process of learning, helping children master effective communication skills through an open environment that encourages self-expression and group discussion, establishing sanitary health habits, fostering the unique creativity in each child by actively encouraging various forms of creativity, and facilitating learning about the world through science experiments, literature, field trips, and hands-on projects. The mission also states that young children have lively minds from the start and that the program strives to make the most of this quality by enabling them to experience, investigate, care about others, interact, develop, and create, and to deepen and strengthen children’s natural abilities by providing them with the healthiest environment possible.

In terms of community involvement, one leader serves as a consultant to the community of early childhood education in Pingtung, Taiwan, and another served on the Child Care Advisory Board in the City of Sunnyvale. Parent testimonials describe the program as a Mandarin-English bilingual program with excellent teachers and a family-friendly environment, and note that there is only one class for each age group and that tuition is very reasonable. Other testimonials mention that children looked forward to school every day, especially learning about holidays, and describe the academic level as excellent with well-educated and warm teachers.
