South Bay Fencing Academy offers a range of fencing classes, including Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Elite fencing classes. The program also runs The Sabre Camp, a Pre-Season Camp, and a Thanksgiving Camp for its fencers.
• Schedule: Office hours Monday–Friday from 3:00 pm–9:00 pm, and Saturday from 9:00 am–2:00 pm
South Bay Fencing Academy was established in 2019 and has 85 active members and 4 coaches. Training takes place in a 6,000 square foot facility. The coaching staff includes Matteo Gallo, Maverick Doherty, and Gaspare Faugiana. Coaches at this program have helped students reach National Championships, NCAA Championships, World Championships, World Cups, Pan-American Championships, and other high-level events. Members of the program include National Champions, European Champions, and national team members who compete in national and international events. Fencers from this program compete in local, regional, national, and international tournaments, and alumni have been recruited to academic institutions such as Columbia University, Northwestern University, Notre Dame, Penn State University, UCSD, Brandeis University, Oxford, Long Island University, and Trinity College. The program states that it is based on a culture of commitment and dedication, focuses on hard work, sportsmanship, respect, and discipline, and emphasizes both the process and the general well-being of its athletes.
