Wrecking Yard Baseball offers batting cage rentals, baseball lessons, and softball lessons, along with team sign-ups and memberships. The program also includes youth travel baseball for 12u–14u, Winter Break Camps, a middle school and high school hitting clinic, and fall tryouts. It operates as a premier baseball and softball facility with a team called The Wrecking Crew.
• Schedule: Open Monday–Friday from 12pm–9pm and Saturday–Sunday from 10am–4pm; appointments are required before 3pm, and calling ahead to schedule cage time is preferred, though drop-ins are allowed after 3pm
Wrecking Yard Baseball’s staff includes knowledgeable instructors who work with all ages and skill levels and can teach all aspects of the game. The staff has personal and professional experience that gives them an understanding of what college recruiters look for. The leadership team includes Charles Boyden, Mason Morioka, Nick Green, Nolan Brown, and Taylor Felipe.
The program’s mission states that Wrecking Yard Baseball will build team comradery and lead by example, focusing on quality practice reps, attention to detail, and challenges against quality opponents to prepare players for the next level. The mission also states that players will be challenged, held accountable, and taught what next-level coaches expect of them, including baseball IQ, next level expectations, the meaning of a good education, doing the little things, and love of the game. The Wrecking Crew is described in the mission as building a reputation of playing the game the right way and putting players in a position to succeed for their future.
Wrecking Yard Baseball was founded with the vision of educating baseball in the South Bay. The program has received multiple local recognitions, including the 2023 Best of Torrance Award, the 2023 Best of Torrance Crystal Award, and two 2022 Best of Torrance Crystal Awards.
