Manila Taekwondo offers training that includes punches, kicks, forms, weapons, breaking, sparring, and participation in Taekwondo competitions. The program includes specialized training for kids and focuses on these specific Taekwondo skills and activities.
• Ages: 4–17 years old
Master Henry Cruz opened Manila Taekwondo in Union City in 1996. The leadership team includes Master Henry Cruz and Master Chino Cruz, who is the proud owner and head instructor of Manila Taekwondo 2 (M2) and is a Kukkiwon (World Taekwondo Headquarters) certified 4th Degree Black Belt. The program states a mission to “Come and Join the Family and be part of a school that promotes togetherness, teamwork and discipline at all times” and to provide a “wholesome, family-oriented environment.” Manila Taekwondo is home to 2 world champions, US Open and PanAm champions, Nationals and States champions, and Nationals and State team members. In 15 years, Master Cruz has produced over 100 National Champions, multiple National Team Members, Pan Am Gold Medalists, and World Champions, and the coaching staff has developed nine US Junior National Team Members, US Open champions, California State Team Members and Champions, a Philippine Open individual and team medalist, and Pan American Juniors and World Junior medalists. The program actively participates in Taekwondo competitions throughout California and in USAT sanctioned and sponsored events throughout the USA.
