Zhang Kung Fu Institute Kids & Youth Program

The Zhang Kung Fu Institute Kids & Youth Program includes Beginning Level, Intermediate Level, Advanced Level, and Competition Team training for ages 4½–12. Placement is based on readiness and instructor guidance.

About the provider

The program states that Kung Fu is for every motivated young person, regardless of prior experience. It says students develop self-defense skills, confidence, discipline, and resilience, with instruction focused on proper technique, conditioning, and injury prevention. Coach Zhang is a certified IWUF International-Level Judge since 2024, a certified Pan American Judge since 2022, an International-Level Coach with more than 20 years of teaching experience, and the USA National Wushu Team Coach for 2019–2026. Coach Shaun is a member of the USA Wushu Team, USA Junior Wushu Team, and USA Kung Fu Team, ranked 1st in the United States in contemporary (compulsory) Wushu at the 2025 USA Team Trials, and earned the first medal for Team USA men at Taolu World Cup 2026.

Placement for the Kids & Youth Program is based on readiness and instructor guidance. Placement for advanced training teams is by invitation only, based on skill level, readiness, and commitment. Contemporary Wushu pre-test is required for the Contemporary Wushu Competition Team. All advanced programs follow a structured, age appropriate approach focused on safety, long term development, and athlete readiness.
