The Kids & Youth Program follows a structured, age-appropriate approach focused on safety, long term development, and athlete readiness, with placement based on readiness and instructor guidance. Zhang Kung Fu Institute offers a clear training pathway in Wushu, an internationally recognized youth Olympic sport, starting from foundational training and extending to U.S. National Team level preparation for those who choose that path. The program provides professional Kung Fu and Wushu training for kids in Union City, Hayward, and Fremont.

The leadership team includes SiFu Zhang, a martial arts educator, international-level coach, and judge, and SiFu Shaun, a member of the USA Wushu Team, USA Junior Wushu Team, and USA Kung Fu Team. According to the program’s mission statement, the Kids & Youth Program is based on the belief that Kung Fu is for every motivated young person, regardless of prior experience, and that instruction follows a practical and realistic approach with attention to proper technique, conditioning, and injury prevention. The mission statement also notes that across all programs, students develop effective self-defense skills, confidence, discipline, and resilience, grow at a steady, healthy pace, build strong fundamentals, and carry values from training into school and everyday life.
