OJP “A Friend in Theatre” (AFIT) Mentoring, Training, Career Counseling for Youth interested in Theatre or Theatre Related Careers

OJP “A Friend in Theatre” (AFIT) Mentoring, Training, Career Counseling for Youth interested in Theatre or Theatre Related Careers gives participants hands-on opportunities for exploration and training in various aspects of theater. The program includes networking events, chances to speak with theater professionals, and workshops in various areas of theatrical practice. AFIT will work on the Midsummer Theater Festival, with opportunities for participants to explore areas of interest and work alongside professional mentors, and it will be an extension of OJP's paid summer internship program.

• Price: Free tickets– Grants from local Rotary and Kiwanis allow OJP to give blocks of free tickets to local educators and nonprofit leaders serving high school students.

Over the past 12 years, Ophelia’s Jump Productions has produced close to 60 productions, employed hundreds of artists and production workers, and entertained and challenged thousands of patrons. OJP states that it believes in the power of live theater to pierce preconceptions, to urge new perspectives and to build community. Grants from local Rotary and Kiwanis allow OJP to give blocks of free tickets to local educators and nonprofit leaders serving high school students.
