Guard Start Camp includes swim lessons, free swim time, and organized aquatic sports. The program also includes organized on land sports that focus on group play and physical activity. No past swimming experience is necessary for participation in Guard Start Camp, and campers are expected to bring lunch, water, a swim suit, sun block, and a towel.

• Schedule: Weekly sessions, Monday–Friday, 7am–6pm, with a core camp day from 9am–4pm

The Greater Vallejo Recreation District, established on July 14, 1944, operates the program as part of its mission to promote wellness and healthy lifestyles by providing safe parks and innovative and fun recreation programs for all residents. The Greater Vallejo Park, Recreation, & Open Space Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit incorporated in 1994, is involved in initiating, sponsoring, promoting, and carrying out related plans, programs, and policies.
