About

Aquatics Summer Camp includes traditional summer camp activities along with swim lessons, recreation swim, free swim time, and organized aquatic sports. The program also includes organized on land sports. Davey Jones Camp for ages 5–7 combines traditional summer camp activities with swim lessons and recreation swim, and Guard Start Camp for ages 8–10 introduces kids to the benefits of aquatics and emphasizes skills such as injury prevention, aquatic safety, lifeguard safety skills, self-esteem, and decision making skills. No past swimming experience is necessary for the Guard Start program.

• Ages: 5–10 years old
• Schedule: Sessions run Monday through Friday within set one-week date ranges, with camp hours from 7am–6pm and a core camp day from 9am–4pm
• Price: $160/R per week, $170/NR per week

Campers are required to bring lunch, water, a swim suit, sun block, and a towel. The Greater Vallejo Recreation District (GVRD), established on July 14, 1944, manages this program as part of its mission to promote wellness and healthy lifestyles by providing safe parks and innovative and fun recreation programs for all residents. GVRD provides parks and recreation programs for children, families, and seniors in Vallejo and offers programs that benefit over 120,000 Vallejo residents of all ages each year, while managing 407 acres of public park space including neighborhood parks, community parks, special-purpose parks, an Olympic-size swimming pool, and community centers, and maintaining over 1,000 acres of public land.
