Cunningham Aquatic Complex Youth Programs offers Summer Aquatic Camps, group swim lessons, and private swim lessons. The program also includes Rec Swim, Aqua Zumba!, water exercise for adults, and American Red Cross Lifeguard Training at an Olympic-size swimming pool.
• Ages: 13–18 years old
• Schedule: Main office hours are Monday–Friday from 8am–5pm, and Saturday from 9am–12pm in June through August; the facility is closed to the public from June 15–21.
The programs are part of the Greater Vallejo Recreation District, which was established on July 14, 1944. GVRD manages 407 acres of public park space, including an Olympic-size swimming pool and four community centers, and maintains over 1,000 acres of public land. GVRD offers programs that serve over 120,000 Vallejo residents of all ages each year. The Recreation Coordinator for these programs is Roslynn Brown. The Greater Vallejo Recreation District’s mission is to promote wellness and healthy lifestyles by providing safe parks and innovative and fun recreation programs for all residents. The Greater Vallejo Park, Recreation, & Open Space Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit incorporated in 1994, supports plans, programs, and events such as sports programs for youth and adults, before and after-school programming, leisure classes, and special events including The Vallejo Sports Hall of Fame, Breakfast with Santa, Arts and Concerts in the Park, and Fishing in the City. On June 10, 2026, GVRD was honored with two awards, including Outstanding General Manager for outgoing general manager Rafael Lanusse.
