10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu Ventura

10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu Ventura offers No-Gi Jiu Jitsu, with separate classes for Kids Jiu Jitsu and Adults Jiu Jitsu. The program follows a no-gi only format and uses a modern no-gi system developed by Eddie Bravo that centers on The Lockdown, The Truck, Rubber Guard, and leg locks.

The academy is led by Head Instructor Scott Ross, a third degree black belt under Eddie Bravo, and Matthew (Matt) Dempsey, a second degree black belt under Eddie Bravo who earned his black belt in 2019 after a decade training at 10th Planet HQ. The leadership team also includes Greg Hoffman, a retired United States Marine Corps veteran and brown belt who serves as a Foundations Coach; Nick Lamoreaux, an NCAA Division II wrestler and purple belt who coaches Wrestling and Foundations; Damien Gonzalez, a purple belt who teaches Kids and Shark Tank classes; and Dominick Gonzalez, a purple belt who teaches Kids and Foundations classes. The program is an Eddie Bravo Affiliate and is black-belt led seven days a week, with a Dawn Patrol program and a Shark Tank class every Sunday at noon. It is drop-in friendly, notes that all levels are welcome, and offers the first class at no cost.
