South Valley Aquatics (SOVA) is a California State registered 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation and operates two sports clubs: SOVA – Visalia Water Polo Academy and SOVA Swim Club. SOVA Swim Club started its swim club in spring of 2023 when the TNT Visalia Swim Club stopped operating. SOVA is a USA Water Polo, USA Swimming, and USA Dive Club, and is a USA Swimming Member Swim Club. SOVA has begun competing in USA Swimming sanctioned events and provides competitive club practice, swim meet, and water polo tournament attendance for swimmers and players throughout the state of California.

The leadership team includes Allyson Briano, a South Valley Aquatics Board of Directors member and College of Sequoias Director of Aquatics, and Ezra Sisk, Swim Coordinator and COS Assistant Swim Coach. Additional directors are Jeff Hohne, Director of ELOP at Visalia Unified School District; Michael Yenigues, Director, Head Coach and Administrator at South Valley Aquatics; Rick Nordell, Former Head Coach BIOLA University Men's Water Polo; Jon Minnig, Project Manager at Boeing Company; Molly Niederreiter, Director of Rehabilitation & Skilled Services at Kaweah Health; and Rory Collinwood, Vice Principal at Wilson Middle School. SOVA states that it is building better humans by teaching commitment, respect, and sportsmanship.

South Valley Aquatics (SOVA) is organized to promote local, national, and international amateur water polo and aquatics as a charitable organization. Its mission includes promoting increased participation in aquatic sports in the local community, with specific attention to young men and women from economically disadvantaged circumstances, and focusing on creating life-altering, positive opportunities for young men and women who may otherwise experience generational impediments to higher education and career opportunities. SOVA’s primary goal is to incrementally and consistently increase the quality of its water polo and swim athletes in the South Valley and become recognized for championship caliber water polo and swim athletes and teams. SOVA measures success by the quality of its players as athletes and citizens as they leave to impact their families, colleges, employers, and communities.

SOVA is a cooperative effort supported by coordination between the Visalia Unified School District, local middle schools, local high school water polo programs, the city parks and recreation department, parents, and players. It provides aquatics programming for schools, school districts, and businesses, and builds relationships with private organizations and individuals to coordinate fundraising efforts to support its commitment to the growth of water polo and aquatic sports, including members of the community who would otherwise not have the opportunity. If a participant registers for SOVA Swim, that participant is entitled to attend any swim or water polo practice in Visalia or Tulare, and SOVA offers dual-club membership in both SOVA Swim and SOVA Water Polo for one fee.
