Bronco Baseball Academy (BBA) was established in 2001. BBA is directed by Ben Campopiano, Principal at Miramonte High School in Orinda, who previously served as Principal at Pine Hollow Middle School in Concord from 2018 to 2021. Before becoming a principal, he worked as a Vice Principal, Social Studies teacher, Common Core Instructional Coach, and baseball coach at Northgate High School in Walnut Creek, and he served as the Director of Baseball Operations at Santa Clara University from 2011–2015. The leadership team includes Ben Campopiano as Owner/Operator and Director, Kevin Sullivan as Site Director, and Alec Read-Skyhawk as Assistant Director.

According to its mission statement, BBA is dedicated to providing comprehensive instruction to ballplayers of all skill and age levels and combines training of fundamentals and skill drills with competitive games and events. The mission statement also notes that players at Bronco Baseball Academy receive expert evaluation and training, can expect to have fun, improve their skills, and learn how to compete at the highest levels.

Bronco Baseball Academy has served thousands of young players in Walnut Creek, CA and the East Bay. The Joe Dawson Memorial Scholarship fund was created in memory of Joe Dawson, a longtime supporter of the Northgate community, youth baseball, and local families in need. Recipients of the Joe Dawson Memorial Scholarship receive one week of Bronco Baseball Academy at no charge and all the necessary equipment for camp and their summer baseball needs. The scholarship application process is open to all local families once per child, per summer, for children between 5–12 years old to attend BBA. The BBA staff awards a limited number of scholarships based on financial need, interest and involvement in baseball, potential for growth and development through the BBA experience, and space availability.
