Rebel Art School

Rebel Art School offers ceramics classes, studio arts classes, and a summer camp that includes both types of activities. During summer camp, both the Ceramics Studio and Studio Arts studio feature new projects and challenges for campers.

• Schedule: Summer Camp June 8–August 14, with ten weeks of creative summertime fun

Rebel Art School’s classes are taught by skilled instructors. The Studio Arts summer program offers AM/PM half-day camps for ages 4–11 and for teens, as well as full-day options for ages 8–14. Ceramics camps are offered for ages 4–7, 8–11, and 12–17. Rebel Art School offers a variety of fine art classes for ages 4 and up. The program presents both traditional and inventive tools and shows classical alongside contemporary techniques. Rebel Art School states that there is no right or wrong way to make art, and that mistakes are treated as happy accidents that can lead to new ideas, problem solving, and thinking outside the box. Rebel Art School aims to embrace rule followers, rebels, and those in between and to create a safe and supportive environment for art making. Rebel Art School’s mission is to create a safe and captivating environment where every inner rebel is empowered to find their true creativity and express themselves through art making.

Rebel Art School maintains small class sizes to support strong individual attention for each student. Rebel Art School has transformed into the creative endeavor of Alexandra Hollingshead, who received a BFA in Studio Arts with a minor in Art History from San Diego State University in 2007. For more than 15 years, Alex has worked as an art teacher for children and adults around the San Francisco Bay Area, a freelance artist, and a floral designer. Having grown up in Walnut Creek, Alex opened Rebel Art School to teach classes in her hometown.
