Rebel Art School’s mission is to create a safe and captivating environment where every inner rebel is empowered to find their true creativity and express themselves through art making. The program offers a variety of fine art classes for ages 4 and up, with small class sizes for individual attention and instruction by skilled instructors who are excited to embrace and exercise creative thought and expression. Studio Arts summer programs include AM/PM half-day camps for 4–11 year olds as well as teens, and full-day options for 8–14 year olds. Ceramics camps are offered for ages 4–7, 8–11, and 12–17, with different projects each week of summer camp.

Rebel Art School is described as an art school for the rebels, the rule followers, and everyone in between, aiming to embrace all of these groups and create a safe and supportive environment for art making. The program presents both traditional and inventive tools and shows classical alongside contemporary techniques. Every week of summer camp is described as offering different projects, lots of kids, and staff referred to as awesome.

Rebel Art School is the creative endeavor of Alexandra Hollingshead, who is the founder and operator. Alex received her BFA in Studio Arts with a minor in Art History from San Diego State University in 2007, and for more than 15 years has worked as an art teacher for children and adults around the San Francisco Bay Area, a freelance artist, and a floral designer. Having grown up in Walnut Creek, Alex was excited to open Rebel Art School to teach classes in her hometown.
