• Price: Camp cost varies depending on the location
My City Allstars Sports Camps consists of children entering 1st–9th grades or ages 6–14, with some sites offering a half-day option for incoming kindergarteners or 5-year-olds. The program introduces campers to a broad range of sports and activities, teaches the value of cooperative team sports and sportsmanship, and encourages individual excellence in an atmosphere of healthy competition. Expert staff modify activities to enhance the individual skill level of both novice and experienced campers, and high quality coaches teach skills at camp.
My City Allstars was founded by Tamar Hill. In 2001, Tamar started the Spartan Allstars Girls Basketball Camp as a half-day girls basketball camp, and in 2012 Spartan Allstars officially opened as a full-day, coed, multi-sports day camp. The mission of My City Allstars is to unite communities through the power of play, and this mission also guides its community involvement.
The camp offers an easy registration system, communication before and during camp, an all-day robust activity schedule, and a diversity of sport exposure. Multi-sports camps at My City Allstars give parents a cost-effective way to expose kids to a variety of activities without investing in equipment, and participants are exposed to sports and activities they might not otherwise have the opportunity to try. The cross-training nature of schedules and the variety of activities limit wear and tear on young athletes, and kids are in one location all day. Campers are not in front of a screen all day, every day includes something new, and many enjoy special activities, seeing their photos and videos on social media, visiting the camp store each day, and Kona Ice visits when available.
Junior counselors at My City Allstars are incoming 8th–9th graders or 13–14-year-olds, and they play a vital role in camp operations. The junior counselor program gives early teens the chance to develop leadership skills, gain work experience, and reinforce sports skills by teaching them to others. Junior counselors are assigned to work with head coaches, the media team, or a specific age group to teach basic game skills, be proactive, and help organize activities led by coaches. Typically, two junior counselors are assigned to each group, often one male and one female, and they are under staff supervision. Junior counselors gain volunteer hours, are expected to follow staff instructions, stay at their designated locations, and participate in camp activities throughout the day. Tuition for junior counselors includes two JC shirts, which must be worn daily.
