Pied Piper Preschool

Pied Piper Preschool offers a play-based learning program that includes hands-on, playful activities to explore early math, science, and language skills. The program uses a developmentally-appropriate curriculum that takes place both indoors and outdoors, with small adult-to-child ratios and consistent, familiar adults in the classroom. The environment is described as steady and caring, with a focus on both academic and social emotional growth.

All staff members are former Pied Piper parents, and the teachers are highly trained Early Childhood Educators. The preschool operates as a cooperative, parent-participation program where families are active participants in the classroom and serve as parent board members. Many current parents are alumni families who chose to return because of their own experience at the preschool as children. The program’s mission states that the best Early Childhood Education happens when teachers and families work and play together. One parent, Quinn Wageman (Annie and Olive’s father, 2014–18), shared that he values the emotional and physical bonds created between parents, children, and teachers, and that the time and effort families invest in making the school a special place was well worth it for his child.
