About
Pied Piper Preschool is a cooperative, parent-participation preschool where families are active participants in the classroom. The program uses play-based learning with a developmentally appropriate curriculum that extends both indoors and outdoors. Small adult-to-child ratios and consistent, familiar adults are part of the daily classroom experience.
• Ages: 2.5–6 years old
At Pied Piper Preschool, children ages 2.5 through six learn through play in a warm, supportive community, and the program’s mission states that teachers and families work and play together. The staff includes highly trained Early Childhood Educators, and all staff members are former Pied Piper parents. The program describes itself as a parent-powered community, and many current parents are alumni families who chose to return because of the experience they had there as children. The school emphasizes a steady, caring environment that supports emotional regulation and growth.
One parent, Quinn Wageman (Annie and Olive’s father, 2014–18), shared that he loves the emotional and physical bonds that Pied Piper Preschool creates between the parents, children, and their teachers, and that the time and effort families put into making the school a special place was well worth it and an amazing experience for his child.
