HS2 Academy College Counseling and Test Preparation Programs offers support with the college application process, customized academic planning, and supportive coaching. The program includes standardized test preparation, one-on-one tutoring in class subjects, college counseling, private tutoring, SAT/ACT Bootcamp, and AP classes.
The counselors and tutors all have excellent credentials and many years of experience, helping high school students getting into their dream colleges. The program’s mission statement is “Building a Culture of Success.” One student, Sean Y., shared that the experiences and insight over 4 years were very helpful in the college application process and in improving application essays. Another student, A. Lin, described receiving guidance on summer programs, internships, community service opportunities, college applications, and financial aid, along with reminders about deadlines. A. Chang stated that guidance from counselors, staying on track with deadlines, and creating authentic essays made the college process less stressful. G. Lian reported working with a counselor since 9th grade on academic decisions, summer programs, majors, and application essays, and completing many essays before deadlines. Leo W. said HS2 is a place for high school seniors to get help with college applications and essays, from brainstorming ideas to final drafts. A student identified as V. described receiving support after moving from another country, including recommendations for extracurricular activities, extra class resources, a college list, and essays, which culminated in acceptance to a T30 school. Another student shared that HS2 helped revise essays, apply to different colleges, organize colleges into safety, target, far-reaching, and dream categories, work on applications during the summer of junior year, submit the UC application two weeks before the deadline, and revise awards and activities to list 10 on the Common App and 20 on the UC application.
