Walnut AYSO Region 624 Youth Soccer Programs offers youth soccer programs based on AYSO’s Six Philosophies of Everyone Plays, Balanced Teams, Positive Coaching, Good Sportsmanship, Open Registration, and Player Development. The program is built on volunteer support, with community members coaching, refereeing, and supporting their local regions. The ultimate goal stated by the program is to create a fun, family-friendly environment where children can grow and develop their soccer skills as well as leadership and social skills for life.
• Ages: 3–18 years old
The stated mission of Walnut AYSO Region 624 Youth Soccer Programs is “Providing world class youth soccer programs that enrich children's lives.” AYSO describes having a complete Player Development Pathway that includes options for toddlers, adults, and participants with developmental disabilities. The program notes that, starting in Fall 2026, division placement will be determined by school year rather than birth year. AYSO highlights community involvement and partnerships, including collaborations with BEEUP Snacks, Chicago Public Schools, AYSO United + AYSO EPIC – Rancho Conejo, Northland Sports Alliance in Kansas City, and the U.S. Center for Mental Health & Sport, as well as support for U.S. Soccer’s efforts related to SafeSport. Stack Sports has recognized Michael Karon, President of AYSO, with the Stack Leadership Award for his impact in sports volunteering.
