Jim Booth Swim School offers swim lessons, open swim, and pool rental for parties. The program uses small teaching pools and shiver-free, 94-degree water at one of its pools, and also offers lessons in an outdoor pool heated to 80 degrees. The program started 50 years ago with one goal in mind: Excellence!
• Ages: 0–17 years old
• Schedule: Office hours Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 12:00pm, and Sunday, 4:00pm to 8:00pm, with year-round lessons offered multiple days per week and open swim on Saturdays
Jim Booth Swim School is the longest running swim school in Santa Cruz County and has taught multiple generations of locals to swim and be confident in the water. The program offers a 4:1 student-to-teacher ratio, over 40 class times each week, and lessons at multiple locations. The school uses empowering teaching techniques that lead to a little progress every day and does not offer online registration. One parent shared that their daughter has been taking swim classes since she was 5 months old and loves it, and another parent reported that their son has been in lessons for 3 years and they would highly recommend the school.
