About
A 5-6-7-8 Dance Company offers classes in ballet, tap, tumbling, jazz, acro, contemporary, hip-hop, musical theater, Polynesian, lyrical, modern, and salsa. Ballet students are eligible to participate in a full-length, professionally staged production of the Nutcracker Ballet every other December, and all dance students take part in a June recital. The program offers beginning, intermediate, and advanced classes in each level, and dance classes are available for ages 2 and up.

A 5-6-7-8 Dance Company states that its mission is to provide each dancer with an uplifting and enjoyable experience while learning the art of dance, and to create an atmosphere of joy and confidence where dancers feel they have become part of a dance family. The program offers drop-in classes, and each child is assessed during their trial class. Loaner tap shoes are available upon request, and ballet classes follow a dress code of pink tights, pink ballet shoes, a solid assigned-color leotard, hair in a bun, and an optional skirt.
Director and owner Holly Dipoma has been running A 5-6-7-8 Dance Co. since 1992 and specializes in teaching dance in an uplifting environment. Holly has performed professionally as a featured dancer at the Starlight Theatre and Fantasy Island Restaurant and teaches tap, ballet, tumbling, Polynesian, and lyrical to all ages. She started dancing at age 3 at Marge Patka Dance Studio, taught her first class at age 15, and also teaches at the park and rec in Simi Valley, all Woodcrest schools, and several Montessori schools from West Hills to Burbank.
Teacher Valerie Adani has been involved in dance since an early age, sang with the United Nations Children’s Choir, acted as an extra on various television shows, and danced with the Lakewood Philharmonic Association. She has performed leading roles including Sugar Plum Fairy, Snow Queen, and Rose Queen with the West Valley Ballet Co. and has studied classical ballet with Eugene Loring, Valerie Silver, Anita King, and Suzanne Haffamier.
Teacher Christie Scarafia earned her bachelor’s degree in dance from the University of Illinois and teaches modern, ballet, tumbling, tap, jazz, and hip-hop to all ages and levels. Amanda Mason grew up dancing at A 5-6-7-8 Dance Co. beginning at age 4, later choreographed and performed in the Pierce College dance company, and has performed with dancers in the Hollywood dance community at Millennium Dance Complex and Playground L.A. Amanda has been trained in ballet, hip-hop, jazz, modern, contemporary, salsa, and tap.
Savannah Lee May is a 24-year-old actress, singer, and dancer originally from Houston, Texas, now living in Los Angeles, California. Her most recognizable role was playing pop diva Carrie Wilson in the Netflix original series Julie and The Phantoms, directed and produced by Kenny Ortega; the cast album reached the number one spot on the iTunes charts, and her two music videos from the show have gained over 27 million combined views on YouTube. Savannah also played the series regular character Buttercup on the Nickelodeon series Knight Squad for two seasons and has guest-starred on School of Rock, Bizaardvark, and Cousins for Life. She stars in the Lifetime movie The Secret Lives of Cheerleaders alongside Denise Richards, appears in the feature film A Cowgirl’s Song with Cheryl Ladd and AGT winner Darci Lynne, which is streaming on Netflix, and appears in the film Dance Rivals, now streaming on Tubi.
Justyce is a dancer and choreographer from Florida and has been teaching at A 5-6-7-8 Dance Company since 2018.
