• Ages: 5–18 years old
The Sutter-Yuba 4-H Youth Development Program is part of the University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE) Sutter–Yuba, a bi-county office founded in 1918. It operates within UC Agriculture and Natural Resources (UCANR), whose mission is to “serve California through the creation, development, and application of knowledge in agricultural, natural, and human resources.” The UCCE Sutter–Yuba team connects the community with practical, research-based support from the University of California and works in close collaboration with Sutter County and Yuba County to bring UC research, education, and community programs directly to local residents. More than 300 campus-based specialists and county-based farm, home, and youth advisors work as teams to bring practical, unbiased, science-based answers to problems across California, and thousands of volunteers extend this work through the California 4-H Youth Development Program.
