Apex Park and Recreation District Youth Programs are part of a larger district that offers athletic activities, events, classes, and family entertainment. The programs are supported by more than a dozen facilities, a robust staff, a dynamic and energetic group of volunteers, and hundreds of youth sports teams.

Apex Park and Recreation District is a special district founded on November 13, 1956. It is managed by an executive director and a five-member elected board of directors, and it is not governed by the city of Arvada or Jefferson County. The district’s mission is to enhance the health of the community socially, emotionally, and physically by being a gathering place and trusted resource for various activities and programs that connect people and improve their quality of life. The district also welcomes visitors from across the metro area and beyond who come to use its athletic fields and recreation facilities. Special districts like this one are created by state law to serve specific community needs, including recreation, fire protection, and water.
