Avid4 Adventure Rock Climbing Camp – Castle Rock
Castle Rock (TBD specific site), Castle Rock, CO
About
Avid4 Adventure Rock Climbing Camp – Castle Rock focuses on climbing, bouldering, knot tying, belaying, rappelling, and climbing safety and ethics. Campers practice climbing commands, proper spotting, hazard identification, and footwork and body positioning techniques. They also work with equipment setup, traditional gear placement, identifying natural anchors, and tying knots at local crags, using carabiners, stoppers, camalots, and belay devices.
• Ages: 7–12 years old
• Schedule: One-week sessions, Monday–Friday
• Price: One Week Price $740; Early Drop Off - Starting at 8 AM $35; After Care - Pick up 3-5:30PM $105; Avid4 Merch - Delivery at Camp Prices Vary (Tax Incl.)
Each one-week session runs Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 3 PM, with extended care available from 8 AM to 5:30 PM. Transportation is provided to and from recreation areas, and campers use top-of-the-line gear specifically sized for kids. Every activity starts with a discussion about the risks involved, how to prevent them, and how to respond if something goes wrong, and Avid4 Adventure states that it gives kids the knowledge and confidence to take calculated, well-communicated risks.
Rock Climbing Summer Camps teach campers on some of the most iconic formations in the area, with daily climbing at crags that offer a range of rock types, styles, and levels of difficulty. Campers are grouped by grade range, either 2nd–4th graders or 5th–7th graders, and broaden their technical skills and take on more challenging climbs as they gain comfort and competence. There are no prerequisite skills or experience needed, but rock climbing campers should have a desire to climb and learn more about the sport.
The camp is backed by the Avid4 Adventure Guarantee, which promises an authentic outdoor adventure, incredibly well-trained and professional staff, and increased confidence; if these promises are not met, the next Avid4 Adventure camp is free. Multi-Session/Sibling discounts offer $25 off per session after the first, a Referral Program gives friends $50 off their first camp and provides a $50 coupon for a future 2026 camp when they purchase, and a Service Discount of $65 off is available for qualifying professions.
Avid4 Adventure states that it hires committed, experienced instructors who are 18 and older with safety and skills training, and notes that instructors are the number one point of positive feedback from parents. At the helm is David Secunda, former president of the Outdoor Industry Association and a 25-year veteran of the outdoor education industry. The organization’s mission states that it believes in the transformative power of the outdoors and that kids at Avid4 Adventure build confidence, make new friends, and master essential skills in activities like paddling, biking, rock climbing, and hiking.
Avid4 Adventure is a Certified B Corp committed to public transparency and accountability, runs summer camps accredited by the American Camp Association, and has been named among Colorado Parent’s Top 5 Sports Camps. It operates under a Special Use authorization from the National Forest Service and is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Avid4 Adventure describes itself as a premium camp that recruits, hires, and trains high-class outdoor educators, is committed to paying educators a fair wage, and offers programs that evolve as campers grow from age 3 to 17.
Parent testimonials describe Avid4 Adventure as a camp where a child learned to ride a bike without training wheels and developed new favorite activities like stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, and biking, and where staff are described as mature, responsible, and excited to share their passion with children. Other parents report that their kids talk about camp more than a month later and look forward to returning, and that their children were active every day and learning how to enjoy what Colorado has to offer.
