School of Rock offers guitar lessons, drums lessons, vocals lessons, bass guitar lessons, and keyboard lessons. The program uses a performance-based music education approach where students play shows in real rock venues. Its patented programs combine 1-on-1 lessons with group band practices, and the School of Rock Method is a patented music education system.

Founded as a single school in Philadelphia, Pa., in 1998, School of Rock has grown into a music school for all skill levels, ages, and musical aspirations, with students ranging from toddlers to adults. The program includes a House Band program for ages 18 and under, an AllStars program for ages 17 and under, an Adult Program for ages 18 and over, and Recording & Production and Songwriting programs for ages 12 and over. The patented music education system employed ensures students master technique and theory. School of Rock is led by Stacey Ryan (President), Sam Dresser (Chief Innovation Officer), Demi Iskandar (Head of Marketing), Eric Schmidt (Vice President of Information Technology), and Jim Love (Vice President of Domestic Franchise Operations).
