HERO Kids Sports is an innovative, non-competitive sports enrichment program for kids ages 2–12 years old that teaches the fundamentals of sports and the values of teamwork in a fun and encouraging environment. Programs are curated for all skill and play levels and are offered year-round through sports, camps, preschool and elementary partnerships, park programs, indoor gym sports programs, private programs and camps, and birthday parties. The program prioritizes a culturally inclusive, socially and emotionally rich environment for all youth, with a focus on cognitive regulation, emotional competencies, and social and interpersonal skills. Coaches are described as fun, inviting, comedian-like, theatrical, and humorous, and they exemplify positive leadership while cultivating an encouraging environment based on responsibility and respect.
The mission at HERO Kids Sports is to introduce sports to children at a young age within an encouraging, inspiring, and fun educational atmosphere, with custom programs that aim to nurture confidence, motivation, and a sense of belonging in every child, and an ultimate goal to “Inspire the HERO Inside” each participant. The program uses evidence-based practices with a focus on sports and wellness, emphasizes the neurological and neurocognitive benefits of an active lifestyle in childhood, and highlights that learning sports at a young age positively affects the development of gross motor skills including balancing, running, jumping, throwing, catching, and kicking. Children’s Hospital Colorado and HERO Kids Sports partner to support the health and wellness of young athletes, and Children’s Hospital Colorado delivers expert, pediatric-focused sports medicine care, including sports nutrition, sports psychology, and comprehensive specialty and preventive care.
One parent shared, “We had HERO Sports lead an activity at my son's 4th birthday party. The kids had the best time and Paige was wonderful with getting everyone to participate. I would highly recommend hiring them for a bday or event!”
