National Western Stock Show Kids Activities includes Pony Rides, the Ames Beef Palace, CSU Ag Adventure, Hutchison Western Pony Trails, King Soopers Petting Farm, NW Nursery, Stock Show Tours, Farmyard Follies, Stick Horse Rodeo, Top Hogs of the Wild West, Sheep Shearing, and Swing & Line Dancing with Country KickUp. Pony Rides are open from 9:30 am-8 pm Sundays through Thursdays and 9:30 am-9 pm Fridays through Saturdays. King Soopers Petting Farm is open from 9:30 am-7:30 pm daily and is free with a grounds admission ticket.
Programs
- Pony Rides — Open from 9:30 am-8 pm (Sundays-Thursdays) and 9:30 am-9 pm (Fridays-Saturdays) · Available to all the future cowboys and cowgirls on the 3rd Floor of the Expo Hall.
- Ames Beef Palace — Includes Top Hogs performances, Farmyard Follies, Sheep Shearing, and Stick Horse Rodeos.
- CSU Ag Adventure — A place for children and adults to learn about the world of agriculture.
- Hutchison Western Pony Trails — An exhibit that teaches about equine friends.
- King Soopers Petting Farm — Open from 9:30 am-7:30 pm daily · Come face to face with over 60 barnyard animals; free with grounds admission ticket.
- NW Nursery — Meet farm animals and learn about their first days of life on the farm.
- Stock Show Tours — Offered from 9:30 am-4:30 pm daily, every hour on the half hour · FREE tour into the heart of the Stock Show led by Colorado State FFA Officers.
- Farmyard Follies — A funny and educational animal entertainment show featuring goats, sheep, llamas, and a spotted donkey.
- Stick Horse Rodeo — Kids can ride stick horses over jumps through a course.
- Top Hogs of the Wild West — Barnyard animals perform tricks, impressions, and ride a skateboard.
- Sheep Shearing — A professional showcases the process of shearing a sheep.
- Swing & Line Dancing with Country KickUp — Beginner, intermediate, and advanced lessons; all skill levels welcome; no partner required.
