Players of all abilities can train with both the men’s and women’s soccer coaching staff and players from MSU Denver. The camp features a low camper-to-coach ratio, a Nike Soccer Camp T-shirt for participants, team discounts for groups of four or more, and instruction on the newly renovated MSU Denver soccer facilities, including a brand new field. The environment is described as fun, competitive, supportive, and striking a balance between high-level training and summer fun.
The camp is led by Nick Kirchhof, head men’s soccer coach at MSU Denver. Nick Kirchhof is a national champion as both a player and a coach and has guided the MSU Denver men’s team to its best conference winning percentage since 2019, with record-setting performances such as a 51.3 percent shots-on-goal rate in 2023 and multiple All-RMAC and All-Region player honors. Before MSU Denver, he spent five seasons as an assistant coach at Stanford University, where the team won back-to-back NCAA national championships in 2015 and 2016 and compiled a 65-23-16 record, including 46-8-11 over his final three seasons, working with All-Americans, a MAC Hermann Trophy winner, MLS Rookie of the Year recipients, and U.S. Men’s National Team players. As a player at Fort Lewis College, he won an NCAA Division II national title in 2005, was national runner-up in 2006, helped the team reach four straight national tournaments and three RMAC regular season championships, and was named RMAC Tournament MVP as a senior.
Parent feedback notes that campers have described the camp as organized and completely soccer focused, with coaching that some parents called “top notch.” Parents report that their children enjoyed playing on a really nice collegiate facility with a brand new field and that coaches were approachable, kind, fun, and knowledgeable. Several parents shared that their children looked forward to attending each day, did not want the week to end, and are interested in returning or attending MSU Roadrunners games after camp.
