About

Girls Mountain Biking Camp – Golden focuses on mountain biking, where campers learn mountain biking skills and bicycle maintenance basics. Campers practice specific skills such as properly fitting a helmet and bike, basic bike commands, bunny hops, track stands, braking, shifting, and trail riding. They ride on rolling single and double track terrain, descend and ascend trail sections, ride narrow and winding trails, traverse terrain in area parks and trails, and learn good trail etiquette while also doing activities that foster personal development and team building.

• Ages: 9–13 years old
• Schedule: One-week sessions, Monday–Friday, with camp hours from 9 AM to 3 PM and optional extended care from 8 AM to 5:30 PM
• Price: One Week Price $740; Early Drop Off (starting at 8 AM) $35; After Care (3–5:30 PM) $105; Bike Rental $50; Avid4 Merch – delivery at camp, prices vary (tax included)

Campers are strongly encouraged to use their own tuned bikes that fit well and are appropriate for dirt trails, including hand brakes and wider tires, or they may rent a bike by selecting that option during registration. To register, campers must be able to bike confidently without training wheels on a dirt surface, and if a camper does not meet this minimum skill requirement, the organization may move the camper to a different program if space is available or remove the camper from the group and offer a credit. Campers also learn to safety check bikes, solve gear problems, and change flat tires, and transportation is provided to and from recreation areas with access to top-of-the-line gear specifically sized for kids.

The program takes place in a girls-only environment where campers explore activities that foster personal development and team building, and adventures are customized so they progress as comfort and skill levels grow. Avid4 Adventure states a mission that it believes in the transformative power of the outdoors and that at Avid4 Adventure kids build confidence, make new friends, and master essential skills in activities like paddling, biking, rock climbing, and hiking. The camp is backed by the Avid4 Adventure Guarantee, which promises an authentic outdoor adventure, incredibly well-trained and professional staff, and increased confidence, and if these promises are not met, the next Avid4 Adventure camp is free.

Avid4 Adventure describes its instructors as incredibly well-trained and professional staff, noting that Avid4 instructors are the number one point of positive feedback from parents of campers. Instructors are described as insatiable outdoors experts who love adventuring and working with kids, are all 18 and older, and have serious safety and skills training, with David Secunda, former president of the Outdoor Industry Association and a 25-year veteran of the outdoor education industry, leading the organization. Avid4 Adventure states that it does everything in its power to keep kids safe but does not “pack them up in bubble wrap,” instead giving them knowledge and confidence to take calculated, well-communicated risks, and that its programs evolve as campers grow from age 3 to 17 and aim to empower kids of all ages from PreK–12.

Avid4 Adventure is a Certified B Corp, is accredited by the American Camp Association, and has been named among Colorado Parent’s Top 5 Sports Camps. It operates under a Special Use authorization from the National Forest Service and organizes big adventures in beautiful recreation areas, with summer camps described as highly acclaimed. One parent testimonial from September 2023 reports that a camper who previously used training wheels learned to ride without them during camp and later became able to ride independently, and other testimonials describe staff as mature, responsible, and excited to share their passion with children, and note that campers were active every day and continued talking about camp weeks later.
