Adventure Camp Lafayette is a day camp for entering 2nd–7th graders, with campers grouped by grade range and building skills and confidence year after year. For 2nd–4th graders, activities focus on getting comfortable with new experiences with support from staff and returning campers, while 5th–7th graders focus on teamwork, mentorship, and deepening technical competence. Campers create outdoor experiences in authentic local settings, and Avid4 Adventure provides transportation from a consistent daily meeting location to recreation areas for each adventure sport. Campers also learn about flora and fauna, Leave No Trace principles, and explore their connections with fellow campers through teambuilding activities. Every activity starts with a discussion about risks, prevention, and response.

Avid4 Adventure states that its mission is to use the transformative power of the outdoors so that kids build confidence, make new friends, and master essential skills in activities like paddling, biking, rock climbing, and hiking. The program is backed by the Avid4 Adventure Guarantee, which promises authentic outdoor adventure, well-trained professional staff, increased confidence, and a customer experience that exceeds expectations, and if these promises are not met, the next Avid4 Adventure camp is free. Avid4 Adventure operates summer day camps, overnight camps, school programs, and events, with programs that evolve as campers grow from age 3 to 17. Avid4 Adventure is committed to paying educators a fair wage, operates under a Special Use authorization from the National Forest Service, and is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Staff at Adventure Camp Lafayette are all 18 and older and receive safety and skills training, and Avid4 Instructors are described as insatiable outdoors experts who love adventuring and working with kids. The leadership team is headed by David Secunda, former president of the Outdoor Industry Association and a 25-year veteran of the outdoor education industry. The camp is accredited by the American Camp Association, named among Colorado Parent’s Top 5 Sports Camps, and is a Certified B Corp.

Parent testimonials describe campers learning Stand Up Paddleboarding, kayaking, and biking, including one camper who learned to ride a bike without training wheels during camp and continued practicing afterward. Parents also describe the staff as mature, responsible, and excited to share their passion with children, and note that their kids stayed active every day and continued talking about camp weeks later.
