Flatirons Volleyball Club is a junior girls’ volleyball club entering its 26th season of training athletic young women from Boulder County and the surrounding area. Its mission is to develop junior girls into complete athletes on and off the court, with a strong emphasis on confidence, competitive spirit, effort, and respect in victory and defeat. The club focuses on self-discipline, time management, leadership, and life lessons inherent in team sport, with team building and team unity at the center of its life skills. Flatirons is most proud of the lifelong relationships that have continued beyond the competitive experience of club volleyball, including alumni serving as bridesmaids for each other, supporting teammates in fights against breast cancer, and even matchmaking that resulted in new step sisters, and many former players return to coach at Flatirons.
The club has an experienced, dedicated staff of coaches who run physically and mentally challenging practices designed to optimize athletes’ time by maximizing touches on the ball. The leadership team includes Club Director Susan Cancilla and coach Kerrilyn. Flatirons is a competitive club governed by USA Volleyball and competes in USA Volleyball-sanctioned events. It is a state registered non profit (501c3) organization governed by USA Volleyball and has been featured in the Boulder Daily Camera Non-Profit Spotlight.
Flatirons Volleyball Club is proud to sponsor the Monarch Gold Crown Volleyball Teams and hosts an annual Dig Deep food drive to benefit Community Food Share.
