SeriousFun Children’s Network Camps & Programs is part of a global network of 30 independently owned and operated camps and programs. The programs are free of charge and serve children with more than 100 life-altering medical conditions. SeriousFun camps use a validated, evidence-based tool to assess the quality of interactions between adults and children as they relate to social emotional learning.

The mission of SeriousFun Children’s Network Camps & Programs is: “Together, we empower children with serious illnesses and their families to reimagine what is possible by creating inclusive camp and recreational experiences, inspiring confidence and joy, and building community and connection.” All SeriousFun camps maintain accreditation by the American Camp Association for U.S. camps or pass a similar, culturally applicable International Camp Evaluation for camps outside the U.S. SeriousFun Children’s Network programs span more than 19 countries and 12 languages. The health center at camp is staffed by nurses, physicians and other medical professionals, including specialists recruited from 13 partnering hospitals throughout Michigan and the Chicago area. One camper, Liam, shared, “Since it was a camp for all people, I knew that I would really belong here.” A parent, Federico’s mom, shared, “I never thought a child would come up to me and say, ‘Look, Mom, he shakes like me.’ It really moved me.”
