About

The Little Gym offers gymnastics and dance, along with kids birthday parties, camps, and a Parent Survival Night. The program includes movement-based learning and imaginative play in a setting described as a safe space for children and parents to explore gymnastics and more.

• Ages: 4 months–12 years old

The Little Gym describes its mission as a place where children ages 4 months to 12 years learn and grow through movement-based learning and imaginative play, with children building confidence and skills needed at each stage of childhood and parents enjoying a supportive and positive community. Its programs use a Three-Dimensional Learning philosophy that includes a Get Moving dimension focused on motor skills, strength, balance, flexibility, agility, and coordination through gymnastics; a Brain Boost dimension focused on creativity, imagination, concentration, and decision-making; and a Citizen Kid dimension focused on sharing, teamwork, cooperation, and leadership. Classes are described as having a positive, non-competitive spirit, and programs are described as getting kids moving, boosting their brainpower, and emphasizing social and emotional learning. Parent Survival Night is specifically mentioned as giving parents a break.

The Little Gym was founded by Robin Wes, who is described as an innovative educator, musician, and kinesiologist. He opened the first The Little Gym in 1976 in Bellevue, Washington, and this year marks 50 years since The Little Gym first opened its doors. The Little Gym has grown into a global community of families, instructors, and local business owners and is described as the OG of childhood development with a global network of gyms across the globe.

Parent testimonials describe The Little Gym as “an amazing place for our daughter to socialize, explore, challenge her strength and learn new skills,” with staff who “ensure the equipment is clean and safe for the kiddos,” and “an excellent outlet for a child to exercise and improve in their strength and abilities,” with teachers who “can relate to kids well.”
