About

EPIC Soccer Academy offers private and small group training, weekly soccer and fitness classes, goalkeeper-specific training, and youth camps and specialized clinics. The program includes EPIC Ballers, an intro to soccer program for ages 3–7, as well as professional soccer development for both field players and goalkeepers. Participants also have access to virtual goalkeeper education, gym access for strength and conditioning, and facility rentals for team training, fitness classes, and related activities.

• Ages: 3–18 years old

Originally founded in 2017 as EPIC Goalkeeping by former professional goalkeeper and coach Daryl Sattler, the program expanded in 2021 to serve both field players and goalkeepers as EPIC Soccer Academy. In 2024, EPIC opened Jacksonville’s first indoor soccer-specific fitness training center. The leadership team includes Daryl Sattler (Founder, Director of Goalkeeping, Coach), Mary Ellen Krieger (Branding), and Linda Torres (Web/Graphic Designer).

EPIC states that its mission is to provide professional soccer development for field players and goalkeepers of all levels and to help players grow beyond their club or school training by focusing on technical mastery, confidence, and performance in a positive, challenging, and professional environment. EPIC reports that it has developed goalkeepers who have signed professional contracts, earned collegiate scholarships, and received national accolades such as Goalkeeper of the Year. Its goalkeeping department is associated with a high-end glove line worn by national team, professional, and youth goalkeepers, and it sponsors professional goalkeepers in Germany, Sweden, France, Israel, Finland, Australia, and Argentina’s Gaby Garton, who played in the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

EPIC notes that it is a neutral training zone that welcomes athletes from all clubs, schools, and teams, and that parents can use a fully equipped gym while players train. The Pro Shop offers goalkeeper gloves and gear. EPIC also reports active support of community outreach through player sponsorships and program partnerships. A testimonial from MLS player Caleb Patterson-Sewell states, “If you are not already training with EPIC Goalkeeping then you are missing out! If you are looking to improve your game you need to be with EPIC.”
