Wendy's Dance Company

Wendy's Dance Company offers Creative Movement, Combo Ballet/Tap, Ballet I, II, & III, Tap I, II, & III, Hip-Hop I & II, Jazz I, II, & III, Lyrical & Contemporary, Clogging I, II, & III, Leaps and Turns, Tricks Lab, Synergy Competition Team, and Ballet Strength & Technique. Creative Movement is for 2 and 3 year olds, and Combo Ballet/Tap is for 4 and 5 year old students with very little dance experience.

Programs

• Creative Movement — 2 and 3 year olds · $60 per month · Designed to enhance gross motor development, listening skills, musicality, and nurture the creative spirit.
• Combo Ballet/Tap — 4 and 5 year old students with very little dance experience · $90 per month · Combines ballet and tap or ballet and jazz, and creative movement.
• Ballet I, II, & III — 5-18 · Artistic dance form based on technique and a foundation for all dance styles.
• Tap I, II, & III — 5-18 · Dance form using tap shoes as a percussive instrument.
• Hip-Hop I & II — 5-18 · Energetic and upbeat dance form teaching funk and street styles.
• Jazz I, II, & III — 5-18 · High energy class focusing on style, turns, jumps, flexibility, strength, and stamina.
• Lyrical & Contemporary — 5-18 · Fusion of ballet and jazz technique with emotion, extensions, and control.
• Clogging I, II, & III — 5-18 · Dance form using footwear musically by striking heel, toe, or both against the floor.
• Leaps and Turns — Technique class designed to improve overall ability in all forms of dance.
• Tricks Lab — Classes focus on increasing strength and flexibility.
• Synergy Competition Team — For students who audition and make the team; does all styles of dance at advanced levels, multiple shows, and travel to competitions.
• Ballet Strength & Technique — Technique-focused ballet class that strengthens the lower body in preparation for pointe class.

About the provider

Wendy Attix is the director. The company has been in business for 30 years. It has received numerous top honors, choreography awards, entertainment awards, costume awards, and many 1st place finishes, and it has been voted Best of Central Florida for the past 5 years. Students can perform in an end-of-year show at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland, FL, and the competitive/performance team competes and performs at various local and national events.
