Founded in 1926 as the West Tampa Boys Club, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tampa Bay was the first Boys & Girls Club in Florida and is celebrating 100 years of impact across Greater Tampa Bay. On April 29, 2025, Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay and Boys & Girls Clubs of the Suncoast officially merged and renamed the organization Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tampa Bay. The organization’s mission is to prepare youth and young adults to be ready for college, career, and life through high-quality out-of-school time experiences that equip them with academic support, workforce skills, and healthy habits. The network operates 41 Club sites across Hernando, Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas counties, including before- and after-school programs, community-based Club locations, Community Impact Sites within or connected to local schools, Traditional Clubhouses, Law Enforcement Partnership Clubs with an on-site sheriff’s substation and full-time deputy, and Strategic Impact Sites that address specific community needs. The organization also operates the Jordan Park Food Pantry located within a public housing community to address food insecurity and a Pinellas High Innovation school partnership site, and it plans to open the Liberty Workforce Innovation Center, a workforce-focused site for teens, in Spring 2026. Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tampa Bay was founded by the Tampa Rotary Club and partners with Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Hillsborough County Parks & Recreation, the City of Plant City, the Hillsborough County Children’s Board, Tampa Housing Authority, the United Way, the St. Petersburg Housing Authority, and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. The organization recognizes Youth of the Year as the highest honor a Boys & Girls Club member can receive and offers a monthly giving program called the 1926 Club. NaTasha McKeller is listed as a leader for the Carey Family Brandon Club.
