Camp Woodland is a privately owned summer day camp where campers take part in field trips, special events, Color War, overnight trips, sports, and arts and crafts. The program keeps traditional sleep-away camp experiences such as Color War, camper and staff shows, and special events. Camp Woodland first opened its doors at C.B. Smith Park in 1983 and has been making “Everlasting Memories Since 1983.” The camp was established by Susan Siler in 1983. The leadership team includes Susan Siler, Lori Anger as Director of Administrative and Organizational Operations, and Robert Bourne and Carly Mautner as on-site directors. Lori received her Educational Specialist Degree in School Guidance and Counseling from the University of Florida. The camp states that “Camp Woodland is a FAMILY in every sense of the word.”
The stated mission of Camp Woodland is to enrich the lives of children through friendships, new experiences, and traditions in a safe environment where campers try new things, develop self-confidence, and learn to empathize and be kind to others.
