About

Triple Threat Basketball Academy offers personal training and one-on-one training that includes offensive drills, defensive drills, and conditioning. The program also offers After School Academy classes and an 8-week summer camp that runs from June through August. At camp, players take part in drills that simulate real game action.

• Ages: 9–14 years old
• Schedule: 8 weeks of summer camp, June–August

Personal training at Triple Threat Basketball Academy is for athletes of all ages and experience. Training sessions include offensive and defensive drills as well as conditioning. The After School Academy is for boys and girls 9–14 years old, and to get the most benefit from these classes, athletes should be able to shoot a ball at a regulation-height basketball hoop. Triple Threat Basketball Camps are an opportunity for boys and girls ages 9–14 to transform their game, and in the morning at camp, players work on drills that simulate real game action that give them tools to create their own shot, drive to the basket and score in the low post, become a better passer and see the floor better, improve shot selection and accuracy, and improve their IQ of the game. Triple Threat Basketball After School Academy states that it will help a son or daughter continue to improve their game in the off-season. Families can sign up to receive the first session for free.

Triple Threat Basketball Academy is led by Founder and Head Trainer Coach Orlando “O” McCorvey. Coach McCorvey spent the last two years as an assistant girls coach at Blanche Ely High School and one season before that as an assistant coach at ASA College in Miami. For seven seasons before ASA, he was the varsity boys’ basketball coach at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, where he won a District Championship, made an appearance in the Elite Eight in 2015, had four regional playoff appearances and two appearances in the Big 8, and compiled a record of 78–63. Before becoming the head coach at Douglas, he served three seasons as an assistant coach for the Men’s Broward College Seahawks and three years as an assistant at American Heritage Plantation with the boys’ varsity basketball team.
