About
YMCA of Southwest Florida Youth Programs and Camps includes summer camp, day camp, youth sports, recreational sports leagues, gymnastics, teen programs, after school child care, and swim lessons. The program is part of a broader set of activities that also includes Youth in Government, adult fitness programs, group exercise classes such as BODYPUMP™, Zumba, TRX, Pilates, Yoga, and Water Exercise classes, as well as personal training.
The YMCA of Southwest Florida has served the community for over 50 years. Its mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. The YMCA of Southwest Florida is a nonprofit organization dedicated to Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility and is community-based, and it offers a scholarship program to make programs and services available to everyone regardless of ability to pay. Camps have been reimagined for children to explore, discover, and challenge themselves, and they are progressive so campers can continuously explore new adventures and responsibilities as they grow. The YMCA recognizes the strength of diversity in school-age programs and makes every reasonable accommodation for all children’s success, and it does not provide one-on-one aide services but welcomes third party paraprofessionals and/or behavioral therapists to accompany children in programs. Membership includes access to all 10 YMCA locations, two hours of childcare free each day while members work out, teen leadership opportunities such as Youth in Government and Gymnastics, special rates on recreational sports leagues, summer camp, adult fitness programs, and more, and discounts at other area businesses through Hometown Partners, including 10% off any service at Bonita Boarding Kennel & Pet Camp with a YMCA membership card. The YMCA of Southwest Florida is an inclusive, nonprofit organization of men, women and children joined together by a shared commitment to nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living and fostering a sense of social responsibility, with a vision of being an intergenerational community hub with programs, services, and resources available to all persons regardless of status or ability to pay. Participants have access to orientations with professional wellness staff who are nationally-certified fitness and wellness experts. Financial assistance is available through scholarship information and application for eligibility.
