Boys & Girls Clubs of Nassau County After-School and Summer Programs are funded by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Nassau County Foundation. The programs operate at Boys & Girls Clubs facilities in Nassau County, Florida and run during the after-school and summer months.

The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Nassau County Foundation is to fund Nassau County’s after-school and summer programs which benefit the community’s youth by providing them with a safe place to improve their academics, be engaged with positive role models, and develop into confident leaders. The Foundation annually raises all of the funds needed to operate the Clubs year-round to provide Boys & Girls Clubs program services to Nassau County youth during the after-school and summer months. The Foundation’s Board of Directors works to ensure the continued programs begun in 2000.

The leadership team includes Ashanta Albury, Unit Director of the Miller Freedom Center, and Jaelyn Harding, Unit Director of the Roberts Learning & Achievement Center. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Nassau County Foundation leadership includes Chief Philanthropy Officer Dawn Spinella; Vice Presidents Rick Armbrust and Clara V. Miller; Treasurer Cathy Thiaville; Secretary Stephanie Goldberg; Executive Committee member Keith Meyer; and Board Members Ronald Blum, Lauren Mathewson, Johanna Marlin, Danni McIntyre, Dart Meadows, Michelle Miller, Ann Elizabeth Moser, Octavia (Nicki) Pollard, Joan Sheppard, Dawn Theodore, Viorica-Ioana Weldon, Lon Welsh, and Jerry Wilkinson.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Nassau County Foundation was established to provide financial support for Boys & Girls Clubs facilities located in Nassau County, Florida. The Board of Directors is described as a dedicated group of people from all areas of the community with a variety of talents and skills who meet monthly to develop, direct, and organize fundraising efforts and special programs. Board members give their time, talent, and treasure toward supporting Nassau County kids, and the Board adheres to strict legal and ethical standards in its operations and follows Basic Governance Practices for tax-exempt organizations as described by IRS Form 990. The Board is described as a “Working” Board that continually reviews and assesses the community’s future needs to align services that help youth and to ensure professional protection of funds and careful allocation of dollars.

For the eighth year in a row, Charity Navigator has recognized the Boys & Girls Clubs of Nassau County Foundation with its Four-Star Award, which is the highest award given by Charity Navigator.
