Florida Aikikai Kids Program takes place at Florida Aikikai, a traditional dojo dedicated to the Japanese martial art of Aikido, described as beautiful, clean, well organized, with a large open space, a huge mat, and tatami that are described as perfect. The program is part of a community that studies Aikido for self-defense and personal development through the integration of mind, body, and spirit, and training is described as an opportunity to calm the mind, find balance, and direct energy mindfully.

The kids program is led by chief instructors Peter Bernath Sensei and Penny Bernath Sensei, who are both Shihans, and other named instructors include Helen Sensei, Darius Sensei, Keith Sensei, Marisa Sensei, and Julia Sensei. Florida Aikikai is described as the most established Aikido dojo in the Southeast United States with the most direct lineage to Hombu and O Sensei, and as one of the best Aikido dojos in the US and very easily one of the best dojos in the country. It is also noted that having two Shihans, one male and one female, in a single school gives students a rare opportunity.

Parents and students describe the kids classes and camps as awesome, fun, energetic, and educational, with a balanced mix of martial arts, games, and arts and crafts, and say that the instructors and staff are kind, patient, loving, caring, and helpful. Multiple parents mention that their children love the program, look forward to attending, and are proud of earning stripes and belts, including a special needs child who has earned every stripe and belt over three summers. Families describe the environment as family friendly and family-like, say they feel their children are safe, and highlight specific instructors such as Helen Sensei and Darius Sensei for their patience, calm, and skill with kids. The dojo is also described as a place where people of all ages and skill levels train together, with visitors from around the world stopping in to train under Senseis Peter and Penny.
