Gator Junior Golf has a Player Development Program that includes FIRST GatorS and Pee-Wee, where kids learn skills through fun games and activities; Level 1 Beginner, where they develop skills through competition and application; Level 2 Intermediate, where they apply knowledge through new lessons and rules; and Levels 3 Playing, 4 Advanced, and 5 League, where they integrate knowledge onto the golf course. The program includes a healthy habits curriculum that covers physical, emotional, and social health, and kids are encouraged to volunteer for beginner level classes to earn community service hours and mentor younger students. Programs with Shands Children’s Hospital use plastic golf clubs and mini tennis balls (SNAG) to teach kids in the confines of the hospital, and approximately 15% of class enrollment has a disability, with coaches trained to handle the challenges that each individual is faced with. The program offers targeted after-school programs with Girls Place, Reichert House, Special Olympics, and Shands Children’s Hospital, including an all-girl golf class at Girls Place and golf classes for kids of Reichert House and Girls Place free of charge.

Gator Junior Golf is a 501(c)3 non-profit sports-based youth development program. Its mission is to enhance the lives of youth by providing educational programs that build character, promote team-building, and establish mentorship through the game of golf. Gator Junior Golf was founded in 2016, and its Founder and Executive Director, Sean Warner, moved to Gainesville to attend the University of Florida in 2011. Shortly after its founding, the program partnered with Girls Place and Reichert House to deliver golf instruction at no charge to those organizations or their participants, and it has golf programs with Shands Children’s Hospital and Special Olympics of Alachua, assisting in delivering a golf program to children of all abilities. The program reaches about 450 kids with 30 coaches annually and spans six golf courses in three counties in north central Florida, and several years after founding it delivers 20 weekly golf classes and offers on-course playing opportunities, tournaments, and more year round.
