Since its beginnings in 1953, Kulaqua Retreat and Conference Center has been bringing people together for over 60 years and has celebrated its 60th anniversary. It is sponsored by the Florida Conference of Seventh-day Adventists and serves as a primary user group facility for groups with a ministry or educational purpose. The center states that its mission is to serve the constituents of the Florida Conference of Seventh-day Adventists and to use Camp Kulaqua as an outreach to non-members who can abide by the policies of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and the principles of Christianity. The program notes that it has hosted thousands of retreats, conferences, seminars, summits, weddings, family reunions, team building, and educational events, and that it uses a systematized process to help ensure event success. Kulaqua also offers a Ministry and Event Planning Service Team with Done For You, Done With You, and Do It Yourself planning options, along with dining and catering that welcome vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, light, and specialty diets.
One guest, Molly Glisson from the Theta Alpha Sisterhood Retreat, described the campus as serene and idyllic. Another guest, Carolynn Y., commented on changes since visiting 30 years earlier and expressed interest in returning. A guest also mentioned enjoying the Saturday Night Variety Show, describing it as always filled with surprises. The center asks guests arriving after hours to make arrangements with office staff ahead of time so check-in can be handled smoothly.
